How to Spot Fraud from a Mile Away

It’s never been easier to access and use your money these days. Your cash is only a few taps away, safeguarded by only a few key pieces of information. While it’s convenient for you to use your hard-fought earnings, it is also easier than ever for scams to take advantage of that convenience.

We at HCCU are committed to keeping your information and your livelihood safe. As your partner in your financial future, there are a few things we would like you to know to stay diligent:

  • HCCU will never call, email, nor text unsolicited to request sensitive information
  • HCCU will never request you transfer funds via Zelle®.
  • Do not share any username or password information to any third party.
  • If someone reaches out to you and requests information like your social security number, account passwords, or dates of birth they may be attempting to scam you.

When using Zelle® or any other kind of money transfer service, please be aware of the following:

  • Only send money to people or businesses you know and trust.
  • Beware of payment scams.
  • Treat Zelle® like cash.

Together, we can keep your finances safe and sound. If you have any questions or if you would like to report potential scams, please reach out to us at [email protected] or give us a call at (916) 364-1700.
